Houston – Houston, get ready to glow!
After a three-year pause, The Makeup Show is back in Houston for two days of demos, seminars and shopping at the Hilton Post Oak. The event is a must for makeup pros and beauty lovers alike. James Vincent, director of artist relations for The Makeup Show, joined Houston Life live to preview the show and demo this season’s easiest, most wearable trends.
The Makeup Show brings celebrity artists and educators to three stages, Main, Seminar and Demo to teach runway and red-carpet techniques adapted for everyday looks. Attendees can expect hands-on demos, insider tips, and the chance to meet brand founders. Vincent stressed that makeup is about expression, not hiding, and said the event aims to empower people of every age and skin tone to feel their best.
He also demoed three on-trend looks you can try at home:
- Fuller but softer brows sketched with pencil then set with powder or wax.
- A small pop of metallic shimmer (especially at the inner corner) to lift the eye.
- Bold, flushed cheeks placed on the apple of the cheek and blended for dimension.
He recommended stick-format shimmers for ease and showed how blush can sculpt for a youthful, healthy glow.
The real crowd pleaser of the two-day event is the pro-discount shopping. Many brands offer 40–70% off, and the sale is open to the public, pro or not. Vincent highlighted that local Houston brands will be on the floor, giving attendees a chance to support hometown makers and test new product launches in person.
The Makeup Show is this weekend, September 20th and 21st at the Hilton Post Oak. You can grab your tickets here.
