Houston – Season 17 of American Ninja Warrior is heating up, and Houston is proudly represented this year.
Longtime ANW fan and rookie competitor Aidan Gonzales, a filmmaker at Texas State University, made his ANW debut last month, taking on the challenging course and even bringing his camera along to capture the experience and passing it along to host Zuri Hall to get the close-ups!
Joining him are fellow Houston Ninja Warriors Daniel Gil and Grant Kinningham, longtime friends and training partners. The trio shared their experiences recently on Houston Life. Grant and Kinningham are still in the competition. They’re headed to the finals, which is slated to air the first week of August on NBC.
Daniel, who’s been a mentor and coach to Aidan, expressed pride in seeing him live his dream. Gil also shared joyful news of welcoming his second baby girl, embracing the busy but rewarding life of an athlete and family man.
Grant, also an ice sculptor, balances his artistic craft with intense Ninja Warrior training. He’s crafted ice sculptures as unique gifts for fellow competitors, all while preparing for the next challenge ahead.
The season is gearing up for twists and turns, including head-to-head racing in the finals, which will test every athlete’s focus and skill.
Though Aidan didn’t advance to the finals this season, he’s motivated to train harder and come back stronger, guided by the support of his mentors and friends. Fans can catch all the action on Monday nights at 7 p.m. on KPRC2 or streaming on Peacock.
