Meet Kin Faux, The Texas country band built on fiddle and family

Houston – They’re not your typical country band, and that’s exactly why fans can’t get enough of them. The Texas-based group Kin Faux brought their signature high-energy, fiddle-driven sound to Studio B ahead of their performance tonight at Rowdy’s Dance Hall in Webster. With multiple #1 hits on Texas radio and the title of Texas Country Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year, the band has become a rising force in the Red Dirt country scene. Lead vocalist and fiddler Rico Gonzalez, guitarist Jakey Black, bassist Adam Carrillo (a.k.a. “Hispanic Titanic”), and drummer Avery Castro named Drummer of the Year, joined the show to talk about their journey, musical chemistry, and love for performing.

The band originally formed in Michigan in 2017 before moving to the Lone Star State where they met Adam from Dallas and Avery from San Antonio.

“We don’t even know where we fit in, exactly,” Rico said, “but that’s the beauty of Kin Faux it’s a melting pot of everything.” Their live shows, they say, are meant to feel like a family reunion.

They headline Rowdy’s Dance Hall in Webster tonight at 7PM. Tickets are just $12.
