Why SeaWorld San Antonio Is the Ultimate July 4 Weekend Adventure—Even If You’re Too Chicken to Ride the Coasters 🇺🇸🎢

HOUSTON – If you’re looking for a wild mix of heart-racing thrills and heart-melting animal encounters this July 4 weekend, SeaWorld San Antonio has you covered - and we’ve got the video to prove it.

Houston Life’s Melanie Camp made the road trip to Texas’s biggest and best theme park to check out what’s new for summer- and let’s just say, it was a day full of surprises.

When faced with Tidal Surge, one of the tallest and fastest swing rides in the world, Melanie politely declined (read: chickened out). Lucky for us, her fearless photographer Lenny stepped in, strapped up, and took the plunge - on camera. His reaction? Equal parts scream and comedy gold.

But SeaWorld isn’t just for the thrill seekers.

Mel also had the chance to meet Ms. Star, a rescued bald eagle who now helps educate visitors about conservation, and Charlie, an adorable baby alligator with a serious side-eye game. Both are part of SeaWorld’s animal ambassador program, giving guests a chance to connect up close with incredible wildlife and learn about the park’s rescue and rehabilitation efforts.

Between the coasters, the conservation heroes, and a brand-new kid-friendly play area called Rescue Jr., SeaWorld is packing in the fun for all ages this Independence Day weekend.

Want to ride along - or safely watch from the sidelines like Mel?
