Alvin Historical Museum opens new Astroworld exhibit on Houston’s long-lost theme park

HOUSTON – The Alvin Historical Museum is featuring a new Astroworld exhibition that’s filled with hundreds of items of old school memorabilia

Houston’s iconic theme park Astroworld opened its gates in 1968, created by the visionary businessman, Judge Roy Hofheinz.

It was a magical space where world-class rides, live entertainment, and tasty treats brought joy to generations.

Astroworld wasn’t just a theme park, it was a sacred piece of the Houston community that brought many memories to families for over four decades.

Though it closed in 2005, many Houstonians still remember the sights and sounds that filled the park on 610 right across from the astrodome.

The exhibit will be o display July 5th through September 6th if you’d like to make plans to go and see it.

Watch as Lauren Kelly chats with Adam Burkey, VP of The Alvin Museum Society, all about this fun exhibition.
