Cheers to ceviche! From crab to redfish, try these ceviches and their wine counterparts

Houston – TGIF and cheers to ceviche! June 28th is National Ceviche Day and we’re celebrating a day early on Houston Life.

Our friend and advanced sommelier Wanda Cole-Nicolson stopped by Studio B with five different ceviche dishes and the wines that will pair with them perfectly.

What is ceviche?

Ceviche is a popular Latin American dish featuring raw fish or seafood marinated in citrus juice, which effectively “cooks” the proteins through a process called denaturation. For ceviche, you’ll need:

  • Fresh seafood
  • Citrus marinade
  • Additional ingredients: Usually includes diced onions, cilantro, tomatoes, and chili peppers.
  • Served chilled: enjoyed as an appetizer or light meal.

Wanda stopped by Captain Ceviche in Pasadena (Their food truck is located in Galveston) and grabbed 5 different dishes to go with her crisp, white summer wines.
