Houston – The summer months are here, and what better way to keep young minds engaged than with a little STEM magic? Mommy and Me: The Listers are our favorite STEM-loving family, who are capturing hearts and sparking curiosity with their energetic, educational videos focused on science, technology, engineering, and math.
Crystal and Kevin Lister, along with their two daughters, Krissy and Kinsley, have built a STEM-powered brand that’s landed them in some pretty extraordinary places. From gracing a Times Square billboard to ringing the bell at the New York Stock Exchange, this family is not just creating content — they’re making history.
Crystal recently joined a prestigious Goldman Sachs cohort and became a graduate of the One Million Black Women: Black in Business program. That once-in-a-lifetime opportunity opened doors to Wall Street and beyond, with Crystal sharing, “To my knowledge, you can’t even get in the building, much less ring the bell.”
The Listers are hands-on, minds-on, and most importantly, rooted in family.
Especially this summer as they prepare for an international STEM tour in Ghana, where they’ll connect with three different schools and host three STEM carnivals. Activities will include everything from solar power workshops to a deep dive into clean water and local sustainability practices — all in partnership with local students.
Of course, they couldn’t leave Studio B without doing a live experiment — Krissy and Kinsley helped set up an acidic reaction experiment on air, while mom, Crystal set Derrick and Tessa up for a lesson on thermochemistry of passing a lit flame.
⚠️ Very Important Warning ⚠️
The experiment is dangerous and should only be done under professional supervision with proper safety measures in place. This was NOT intended for an at-home experiment, but, as a demonstration.
You can follow their journey on social media as they continue to empower young minds and share their love of STEM education one experiment at a time. Don’t forget to attend their 4th Annual STEM Carnival on September 6th from 12 p.m.- 4 p.m. at Houston Community College - South Campus
