From swollen legs to relief: how one woman found answers at a local Sugar Land clinic

Houston mother, Renee Saenz, had grown used to the swelling and discomfort in her legs, chalking it up to long hours on her feet at work. But when the swelling worsened and fatigue set in, she knew it was time to act.

“My legs were really swollen. I felt exhausted at night—just itchy and uncomfortable,” Saenz recalled. After researching her symptoms, she discovered Dr. Reincke and booked a consultation.

From the moment she arrived, Saenz felt at ease. “Everybody was so friendly from the minute I got here,” she said. During her consultation, owner and medical director of Reincke Vein Center, Dr. Tonie Reincke, took time to explain the diagnosis and treatment options, setting clear, realistic expectations. “She walked me through everything,” Saenz said. “She explained the process and what to expect.”

Dr. Reincke emphasized that the goal wasn’t cosmetic improvement but medical care. “We’re treating a medical disease,” she explained. Saenz’s risk factors—including genetics and standing for long periods at work—made her a prime candidate for treatment. An ultrasound confirmed she had vein disease, and they moved forward with a plan.

The procedure, radiofrequency ablation, was straightforward and quick. “It’s a 10-minute treatment every time,” Saenz said. She was also happy to tell friends who were worried about pain, “It doesn’t hurt.” The minimally invasive procedure uses heat to close malfunctioning veins. “We insert a catheter into the vein, heat it, and seal it,” Dr. Reincke explained. “Over time, the vein forms scar tissue and dissolves.”

Best of all, Saenz was able to jump right back into her busy life. “I went back to work, picked up my daughter, went to the gym,” she said.

Now feeling better and grateful for the care she received, Saenz encourages others not to wait. “Just come in for a free consultation,” she urged. “It might be the right fit, it might not—but Dr. Reincke will guide you.”
