Everyone can thrive during Sensory Friendly Day at Children’s Museum Houston

HOUSTON – Children’s Museum Houston is inviting families with sensory processing differences to one of four Sensory Friendly Days at the museum from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event provides a sensory-friendly environment, designed to accommodate children with sensory sensitivities while allowing families to enjoy interactive exhibits and activities.

As a KultureCity Certified Sensory Inclusive™ venue, the Museum will offer reduced noise levels, dimmed lighting, sensory bags, and quiet spaces to ensure a comfortable experience for anyone needing an extra quiet moment.

  • Activities include:
  • Sensory Friendly Storytime
  • therapy animals from Faithful Paws
  • ReelAbilities Film Festival.
  • Houston Ballet interactive workshop will also be available

Community resource partners will also be there:

Diagnostic Intelligence Assessment Group, LLC: Visit with the Diagnostic Intelligence Assessment Group to learn about their workshops, tutoring sessions, and other resources!

ACES ABA: Visit with ACES to learn about their Applied Behavior Analysis-based programs which serve students with autism and other developmental disorders.

Bright Path Behavior: Visit with Bright Path Behavior for developmental, behavioral, and community resources.

University of Houston (UH) Cognitive Lab: Visit with the UH Cognitive Lab! They specialize in studying infants’ and children’s language learning as a tool to deepen the understanding of learning processes.

Pre-registration is required, and the special admission price for the event is $9.95 per person. Children under one and Museum Members can attend for free. Click here to register!

If you can’t make it to this event, there are future Sensory Friendly Days scheduled for April 7 at Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center, and April 14 at Children’s Museum Houston.
