Enjoy Free Family Fun Spotting Native Wildlife at the Houston Arboretum

HOUSTON – The secret to spotting a critter at the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center is to stand still and wait for movement.

Within minutes something will flutter, or slither, or splash. Once you get an eye for it more and more creatures will catch your eye. Migrating birds, broad banded water snakes, turtles, bullfrogs, egrets eating crawfish, fishing spiders, armadillos, squirrels, caterpillars, butterflies.

The Arboretum grounds are teeming with biodiversity and provide a beautiful sanctuary for native flora and fauna slap bang in the middle of Houston.
