Staying safe in the heat

Temperatures will stay in the low to mid 90s for Father’s Day and most of next week, so no relief in sight for this June heat.

Wear loose-fitting, light-colored clothing if you do head outside, seek shade when possible, and check on elderly neighbors, young children, and pets. And never, under any circumstances, leave a person or animal alone in a closed car.

It takes only minutes for a car’s interior to reach life-threatening temperatures.

Father’s Day:

We’ll watch for a slight chance for rain for a select few not all as we start your morning as our “feels-like” temperatures hit triple-digits again.

10-day forecast:

The 10-day forecast is a familiar one for Southeast Texas, hot, humid, and steamy. Highs will stay in the low to mid 90s with heat index values continuing to run well above 100 degrees into next week.

Isolated storm chances will pop up from time to time. In other words, it’s a classic Houston summer, keep the water bottle handy and the AC running.
