Rain is headed back to Houston this week, as a high-pressure system is moving out of the area, opening the door for rain and thunderstorms as we get into the week.

Right now, it’s still more about the long-range patterns. So when we get closer, 1-3 day range - we can start giving you rain totals, start and end times.

The Pattern:

The Euro has the front move through Houston, overnight into early morning Sunday while the American model has it around mid-morning into the afternoon.

While things will change the closer, we get — even the models — we’ll keep updating you as we get closer. We’ll also be able to nail down the intensity better as we get closer to the date.

Right NOW: The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) shows no elevated severe weather threat or flood threat, but we’ll check back tomorrow and we’ll have an even better understanding of the threat changes.
