WATCH:

The NWS has issued a freeze warning starting at 1 a.m. until 9 a.m. for areas up to the north. But even if you’re not in the freeze warning area, make sure to bundle up the kids at the bus stop.

And the question a lot of people are thinking and asking right now... Isn’t it a little too late to be hitting the 30s?!

The last freezing temperature on record was April 10th 1973 but the average last freeze happens around February 15th while areas closer to the coast is earlier, January 26th for Hobby Airport.

But it doesn’t mean March freezes aren’t possible, it’s just not the standard.

March 13, 2022 is the last time Houston hit the freezing mark in the past six years. Don’t get me wrong, we’ve been in the 30s and 40s for coldest temps in March over the last five years, but that freezing mark, the magic 32 degrees hasn’t happened since 2022.

And technically won’t happen tomorrow either since Houston will be in the 40s despite the freeze warning up to the north.

With that being said. Bundle up, it’s going to be cold. Thankfully, it won’t be as windy though, our wind advisory wrapped up by 6 and our red flag warning expires at 7. The windy conditions die down in our overnight hours which will help with feels like temps.
