Your weather and traffic team is making sure you’re prepared for the 2026 Downtown Rodeo Parade:
The Downtown Rodeo Parade. It’s a tradition that started in 1938, and while the official start date for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is March 2, today is all about the Downtown Rodeo Parade as we saddle up for the Rodeo this weekend. The grand marshal of the 2026 Downtown Parade is U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Scott Ruskan, a rescue swimmer who saved 165 children during the historic July 4th flash floods in the Texas Hill Country.
Weather & Traffic Together:
Today we’re tracking an above average day with plenty of sunshine on the way after the fog with a high of 82, average is 70 and our record high is 90 in 1940.
Downtown Rodeo Parade Traffic: Expect slow drive times in downtown
The parade route starts at Bagby and Walker Streets at 10 a.m. Expect delays on Travis Street, Bell Street, Louisiana Street, and Lamar Street. Parade Parking: The Theater District, Walker, and Main Street Garage parking are your main choices listed by the Rodeo, but expect slow drive times in general.
