Houston sees sunshine and calm weather for the holiday and tornado storm clean up

A quiet holiday stretch of weather will help folks cleaning up after a wild weather day Monday

Severe Storms Batter NW Harris County Monday:

Tornado Aftermath: The NWS has now confirmed two tornadoes ripped through Riata Ranch and the Klein/Spring areas yesterday—destroying homes and cars as fallen power lines sparked house fires.

- An EF1 tornado ripped through Riata Ranch/Northwest Harris County west of 249 with peak winds of 105 mph

- A stronger EF2 tornado slammed the Klein/Spring area along the Grand Parkway with winds up to 115 mph

Both carved miles of destruction Monday afternoon. Thankfully, no injuries or fatalities were reported.
