A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service until 9 p.m. Thursday evening.

This includes the northwestern counties in our viewing area: Brazos County and Burleson County.

The main threats that we are monitoring for are wind gusts up to 60 mph and large hail up to 2.5 inches in diameter.

For Thursday, a 1 out of 5 risk of severe weather is included in our northern counties, as well as far northern Harris County. A 2 out of 5 risk includes portions of the Brazos Valley and Piney Woods areas.
