Heavy snowfall fell across SE Texas on Tuesday morning! Many areas saw 2-4″ through the morning with all of the precipitation ending by noon.
Wednesday’s Forecast:
The big concern we had in the overnight hours was slush refreezing on the roads. Any snow that melted into slush hardened into ice, making our Wednesday morning commute atrocious.
An extreme cold warning is also in place through Wednesday at 9 a.m. due to temperatures plummeting into the teens! Factor in the wind and several locations will feel like the single digits.
Wednesday Afternoon’s Forecast:
Wednesday we will see sunny skies! Temperatures will reach above freezing by 11 a.m. with afternoon highs around 40°.
Although this is still cold, it is warm enough that we will see the snow and ice melting. By the late afternoon roads should be significantly better.
Thursday morning:
Thursday morning we will see our final hard freeze of this cold blast.
Temperatures on Thursday will drop into the mid-20s across SE Texas. Thankfully we will have been dry for nearly 48 hours so our roadways should be mostly clean of snow and ice by then.
10 Day Forecast:
Friday afternoon we will see temperatures climb into the mid-50s and then we will stay above freezing for the remainder of our 10 day forecast!
This weekend we’ll even see highs climb into the 60s and 70s before a front Sunday evening. This front will bring rain chances and high temperatures in the 50s for next week.
