HOUSTON – A storm system which is bringing winter precipitation to parts of North and East Texas will bring the potential of heavy rainfall to parts of the Houston area Thursday.
The best chance for seeing the heaviest rainfall will be along the coast, but other areas of Southeast Texas could also get a good amount of rain.

it will be a cold, cloudy, wet day across SE Texas. We are forecasting the freezing line to be well to the north of us. This means we will only see cold rainfall.
If the freezing line drops south, we could see a wintry mix (freezing rain/ice) as far south as Madisonville. We’re not anticipating that we’ll see any accumulating ice, however, conditions could become a little slippery in the overnight hours.
