The sheriff’s office initially responded to the home Monday morning after reports of an arson in progress. When deputies arrived, they discovered one of the couple’s children had set fire to their mattress in order to escape their bedroom. “What these individuals did was just evil,” said Sheriff Nocco. “Pictures will never give justice to what this child went through, you don’t see the bugs and you’ll never feel the emotional neglect he felt,” said Sheriff Nocco.

HOUSTON – The Houston Independent School District will start the 2020-2021 school year on Sept. 8 with all students learning in a virtual classroom. Parents will have the option to choose online-only classes through the end of January or through the end of the school year. Once in-person learning begins, all employees and students will be screened each day before entering any HISD building. What you can deconstruct are those automatic, implicit, instantaneous and often negative associations with racial groups that are different than our own.
