It has been a very warm Autumn. For the month of October we were nearly 4° above average and so far in November we’ve been in the mid-and-upper 80s every day. This is NOT normal. Our normal high this time of year should be in the mid-70s.

While Houston has had a few cool fronts so far since then that have reduced humidity and made it feel pretty nice, our afternoons have still been hot with some days reaching into the 90s.

After a messy weekend start, Sunday certainly turned out nice for us. Now, another front is knocking on the door for tomorrow which means a cloudy and wet Tuesday.

HOUSTON – Cold air has settled into Southeast Texas and will be sticking around for a while. We are in the beginning of the longest stretch of cold weather that has hit Houston so far this season. As we head into late Sunday, temperatures will start to drop and wintry precipitation will be getting close to Southeast Texas! Sunday NightAccumulations will be insignificant in Southeast Texas but snow will accumulate north and northwest of our area. Weekend Travel WeatherAfter Sunday’s rain/snow mix event, the rest of the ten day forecast shows a cooler than normal start with plenty of sunshine for the week ahead.

After tying records yesterday with 94°, we’re in for a minor cool down tonight and a big one the end of the week! You won’t see much out of this front tonight -- slightly drier air and a drop into the 60s for lows and 80s for highs tomorrow. This one might bring a splash of rain, but will clear quickly leaving us with that perfect fall cool down for a beautiful Friday football evening. So, is our hurricane season over? Statistics are on our side and so is the meteorology this week.

Cold fronts in September are never a sure thing, but this one is looking more and more likely as the weekend edges closer. High temperatures on Saturday and Sunday are projected to hover in the mid to upper 80s. Highs will remain in the 80s this weekend, with no "feels like" temperatures to fret over. Bottom line, this weekend should turn out to be quite spectacular, barring any big weather surprises.

HOUSTON – Temperatures are on the rise for the rest of the holiday weekend but clouds will also dominate much of our day as well. Low 70s tomorrow with some patchy sunshine then we’re forecast to reach the mid to upper 70s during the Monday-Tuesday time period. Then come Wednesday and Thursday and the return of winter temperatures. We’ll see cloudy skies, scattered showers and a temperature drop from a high on Tuesday in the mid to upper 70s to the 60s and 50s on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The good news is that as quickly as winter dips in, it dips back out and by next weekend, the second weekend of Mardi Gras, our temperatures will back near normal with little or no rain forecast.
