A fall cold front is on the way to break the summer heat just in time for the weekend! Cold fronts in September are never a sure thing, but this one is looking more and more likely as the weekend edges closer. High temperatures on Saturday and Sunday are projected to hover in the mid to upper 80s. Highs will remain in the 80s this weekend, with no "feels like" temperatures to fret over. Bottom line, this weekend should turn out to be quite spectacular, barring any big weather surprises.

Weekend forecast: Saturday showers expected

Read full article: Weekend forecast: Saturday showers expected

Saturday Sunrise from Galveston (Galveston.com)Galveston beaches will likely attract crowds this Labor Day weekend with sunrise shots like this from this morning and the promise of only slight rain chances. Scattered showers and storms expected Saturday afternoon and early evening (KPRC)There will be showers around, especially this afternoon and early evening as the heat of the day (the mid 90s inland) help to trigger scattered showers and thunderstorms until about 8 or 9pm. Im not expecting severe but some of the storms will be capable of dropping heavy rain with gusty wind. (KPRC)The ten day forecast shows the end of the next week and into the weekend as dry. You should know that some computer models favor a stalling of the front along the coast by next weekend and therefore call for chances for showers.

Holiday weekend brings clouds and upper 70s

Read full article: Holiday weekend brings clouds and upper 70s

HOUSTON – Temperatures are on the rise for the rest of the holiday weekend but clouds will also dominate much of our day as well. Low 70s tomorrow with some patchy sunshine then we’re forecast to reach the mid to upper 70s during the Monday-Tuesday time period. Then come Wednesday and Thursday and the return of winter temperatures. We’ll see cloudy skies, scattered showers and a temperature drop from a high on Tuesday in the mid to upper 70s to the 60s and 50s on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The good news is that as quickly as winter dips in, it dips back out and by next weekend, the second weekend of Mardi Gras, our temperatures will back near normal with little or no rain forecast.
