HOUSTON – Harris County sheriff’s deputies are investigating after they said a 5-year-old girl was accidentally shot by her brother in northeast Harris County Tuesday. Deputies said the shooting happened at the Haverstock Hill Apartments located on Daleburg Drive near Lee Road. According to investigators, the girl’s mother said her son, who is six or seven years old, was playing with a gun and accidentally shot the girl in the leg. The girl was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in unknown condition, deputies said. Check back for updates.

HOUSTON – Deputies are investigating after they said a man was accidentally shot and killed by a family friend while relaxing in bed in northwest Harris County Tuesday. The person who accidentally pulled the trigger was a family friend, investigators said. Deputies said Peavy’s wife was in the room with him when it happened and the family friend was taken in for questioning. Investigators said Hargrove told them he located a firearm inside the residence after the family went to bed. SIENNA PLANTATION, Texas – A deputy constable has died after a Fort Bend County sheriff’s deputy accidentally shot him in the Sienna Plantation area of Missouri City Friday, officials said. Officials said the incident happened at around 1:40 a.m. at a home in the 3900 block of Chestnut Bend. According to authorities, the deputy with Fort Bend Sheriff’s Office and a deputy with the Fort Bend Precinct 4 Constable’s Office were clearing a house together when the FBCSO deputy accidentally shot the deputy from the constable’s office. Officials said they received a call for a vacant property check-in at Sienna Plantation after a neighbor called and said she saw someone running down the street, though it was suspicious. Nehls said one point of the investigation will be what type of communication there was between Rule and the sheriff’s deputies.
