Police said a man died in the accident and they are investigating whether he was street racing at the time. According to officers, a witness told them a Honda Hatchback was racing another vehicle when it veered off the road and ran into a tree. CROSBY, Texas – A construction worker has died after authorities said he was hit by a passing vehicle in the Crosby area. The incident happened before noon on Friday in the 13700 block of the Crosby Freeway, authorities said. According to deputies, the man was putting out construction cones on the freeway entrance ramp when a driver lost control of her vehicle and hit him. Deputies said the woman thought she was having an epileptic seizure and went off the road, fatally hitting the man. Authorities said the victim is believed to be around the age of 50.

HOUSTON – The driver of an 18-wheeler is dead and empty beer cans are scattered all over the road after the truck crashed in north Harris County. Deputies said the accident happened around 3:45 a.m. on the southbound lanes of the North Freeway at FM 1960. The driver of the 18-wheeler lost control of his truck and crashed into a guardrail before going into a grassy area and hitting a tree, deputies said. Authorities said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and the impact sent him through the windshield, landing in the outside lane of the North Freeway. “The impact of the tree sheared open the tractor portion of the 18-wheeler and unfortunately the driver was not restrained by a seatbelt,” said Sgt.
