In Oakridge North near the Woodlands, a couple of residents from both sides were victimized. We usually chat on the road and told me that she wanted to know where I got my sign that hers had been stolen. Like in most neighborhoods political signs can be seen throughout Oakridge North. In response to the theft, Hribar said he put 11 more signs supporting democratic candidates. The Oakridge North Police Department said only one case has been called so far but warned that someone caught stealing political signs could be cited for theft.

As Klein and Friendswood remain constants, the rest of the volleyball landscape in Houston is a little bumpy. The Woodlands lost back-to-back matches last week to St. Agnes and Klein, allowing for Seven Lakes, Dawson and George Ranch to gain ground in the Top 5. THE WOODLANDS, Texas – UT Health and Memorial Hermann are the first in Texas to perform a double lung transplant that saved the life of a man suffering from COVID-19. He is a retired construction worker who lived with diabetes and had no other underlying health conditions, according to Memorial Hermann. Last month, Dr. Jyothula and a team from UT Health performed the double lung transplant one day after Medellin went on the waiting list, according to Memorial Hermann. According to UT Health, he immediately began physical therapy and thriving in good health. While it’s a phenomenal operation, Dr. Jyothula said he never wants to have to do a double lung transplant because of this virus again.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough successfully made it out of surgery Thursday night after his vehicle crashed into a parked deputy constable’s vehicle earlier in the day. A spokesman for Keough said the judge was on his way to a meeting when he crashed into the cruiser in The Woodlands. He said Keough, a deputy constable from Montgomery County Precinct 5 and a third driver were taken to a hospital after the crash. Keough underwent surgery to get his pelvis and hip reconstructed, officials said. “Please keep the deputy and judge in your thoughts and prayers,” Keough’s spokesman said in a statement.

WOODLANDS, Texas – A Houston firefighter's family is hoping a new drug will help him win his battle with COVID-19. According to the U.S. National Library of Medicine, there are four hospitals across the country experimenting with the drug. Now, the company that makes the drug, NeuroRX, says they believe by using it as an injection, it can be used for conditions like bipolar depression and also respiratory distress. The department said they got approval from NeuroRX to get the drug transferred from Houston Methodist to Memorial Hermann in the Woodlands to treat Capt. Pena added that, right now, 96 Houston firefighters are in quarantine and 34 firefighters have tested positive.

Captain Tommy Searcy is in critical condition at Memorial Hermann in the Woodlands, officials said, Tuesday. After hours of communication and battling red tape, early Tuesday morning, Searcy’s colleagues brought over an experimental drug which they hope will help save his life. Unrelenting determination is the feeling consuming Lancton and Searcy’s colleagues, including Searcy’s twin Tony, who is also an HFD captain. With dwindling options, firefighters had hoped an experimental drug being used in Houston could be an answered prayer, but the trial is being facilitated at Houston Methodist. Searcy is at Memorial Hermann in the Woodlands.

However far you walk, you'll encounter woodlands, wetlands and abundant wildlife. Located about 30 miles north of The Woodlands, this 163,037-acre park packed with loblolly pines, Southern magnolias and yaupon holly boasts some 275 miles of trails. Meander on beginner trails or trek segments of the 129-mile Lone Star Hiking Trail, the state's longest continuous hiking path. This 1,745-acre state forest bordering the Woodlands features nearly 15 miles of trails lined with pines and packed with red-cockaded woodpecker, an endangered species.

ARLINGTON – The emotional season came to an end for the Woodlands Highlanders in disappointing fashion as the team lost in the state championship game, 41-13 to Lake Travis. The Woodlands came into the 6A Division I title game undefeated after persevering through tough circumstances when one of their teammates Grant Milton suffered a brain injury during an early round playoff game. Thousands of fans made the trip from the Woodlands to Arlington for the game, showing tremendous support for Milton and his family. His familiar number 21 jersey t-shirts could be seen throughout AT&T StadiumPlayers wore socks with Milton’s number 21 displayed and their helmets had number 21 stickers on them as well. It was the second state title appearance for the Woodlands, who last played for the championship in 2003.
