The crash was reported at approximately 1 a.m. in the 7600 block of Westheimer Road, near Hillcroft Avenue. HOUSTON – Target recently opened a new Houston store at 2075 Westheimer Road in the Shepherd Square Shopping Center. The new store is Target’s fourth Inner Loop location. HOUSTON – A wild chase ended with a crash involving an innocent driver and a vehicle split in half in southwest Houston Monday, police said. Police said the crash happened on Westheimer Road and Stoney Brook Drive around 3:31 a.m. According to officers, it all started when they tried to pull over the suspect for a routine traffic stop. Police said an innocent person’s vehicle was split in two after the suspect slammed into it during the pursuit. The suspect tried to make a run for it but he was caught, officers said.

HOUSTON – A man was killed, and a boy was injured in a shooting Monday in west Houston. Investigators said the man and a 12-year-old boy were in a white Mercedes when they were approached by three masked gunmen who all opened fire. Police said the man died at the scene and the 12-year-old boy was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries. The exact relationship between the man and the 12-year-old in unknown but it is believed that the man was the boy’s father, according to police. Investigators said it is unknown of the gunmen targeted the boy or if he was shot in the crossfire.

HOUSTON, Texas A person on a scooter was killed in a hit-and-run accident while riding through an intersection early Sunday morning, according to the Houston Police Department. Around 12:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to a crash in the 2600 block of Chimney Rock Road, near the intersection with Westheimer Road. Upon arrival, they observed a young male deceased at the scene. HPD Lt. Christopher Bruce said that upon an initial investigation, officers have determined that the young male was on a scooter advancing through the crosswalk at the intersection of Westheimer Road and Chimney Rock Road when a vehicle driving eastbound on Westheimer Road attempted to make a southbound turn onto Chimney Rock Road and struck the young male. Bruce said it was reported that there was a vehicle traveling behind the initial striking vehicle that also struck the young male.

HOUSTON Westheimer Road is operating at normal speeds during the day as the paving operations are complete. However, there is some work to complete such as median repair, finishing the loops for the signal lights and some final striping. Crews have been working 24 hours a day to get the work done, covering Westheimer Road from the West Loop to Dairy Ashford. They started with repaving the area between the West Loop and Fountain View and continued working their way west until reaching Dairy Ashford. The Texas Department of Transportation tells me theyve finished all left-turn lanes on this major corridor except one.

HOUSTON – Houston fire crews are battling a massive, two-alarm blaze at an apartment complex in southwest Houston Thursday evening. The fire was first reported at about 3:45 p.m. at the Churchill Townhomes apartment complex located at 2425 August Drive, near Westheimer Road, just west of The Galleria. Massive flames and copious amounts of smoke could be seen billowing from a building in the complex.
