Authorities have a Texas mother behind bars after an investigation revealed she helped her son plot a terror attack against his middle school by buying him ammunition and tactical gear.

Investigators said a man showed up unannounced at the homeowner's house, so she called her father (a retired HPD officer) and a neighbor (an off-duty HPD officer) for help.

The FBI and Department of Homeland Security said it is concerned about "possible copycat or retaliatory attacks due to the persistent appeal of vehicle ramming as a tactic for aspiring violent extremist attackers.

CYPRESS, Texas – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who they say threatened employees at a Taco Bell in Cypress. Deputies said the man began to yell that the employees “shouldn’t do anything to his food.”The manager tried to reason with the man, but deputies say he began to yell and threatened to beat up the manager. According to deputies, the manager escorted the man out of the restaurant and locked the doors. The man then took his shirt off and approached the drive-thru window and banged on the window with his fists and threatened to shoot the workers, deputies said. MATAGORDA COUNTY, Texas – The Bay City Police Department says people coming forward with tips are receiving private threats on Facebook. Last week, a Matagorda County Sheriff's Office deputy and Bay City officer were suspended, accused of posting derogatory comments online about the Ferguson grand jury decision. The department is working to track down whoever made the threats. The officer and deputy are on leave until the investigation wraps up.
