The 70-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the hospital. Neighbors identified the woman who died as Carol Ansel, a beloved, retired elementary school teacher from Rummel Elementary who was taking a routine morning walk. The deputy said Saborit didn’t stop and led the deputy on a chase southbound on Veterans Memorial past the 249 intersection. An @HCSO_D1Patrol DWI unit was involved in a brief pursuit where the suspect went into oncoming traffic at the 9500 block of Veterans Memorial Dr. and struck another vehicle. Once released from the hospital, Saborit will be booked into the county jail charged with two counts of felony murder.

HOUSTON – An innocent man was killed during a wrong-way, head-on crash on the North Freeway. The crash happened around 2:12 a.m. Thursday between Airtex Drive and Rankin in north Harris County, authorities said. The passenger in the Dodge, identified as Antwon Wallace, was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. He has been charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault, authorities said. Teare said authorities will be conducting an investigation into the crash to determine if anyone else played a roll in it.
