The vast majority of the outages are located in two areas, areas west of Loop 610 near the Katy Freeway, such as Spring Branch, as well as along Beltway 8 near the intersection with Highway 249, in the Willowbrook area of Houston.

Entergy Texas says they have restored power to more than 50% of their 252,460 customers who lost it during Hurricane Beryl.

People who live at a Northside apartment complex came to us desperate for help after complaining about spending days without electricity and weeks without hot water.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the Harris County jail facility located on San Jacinto Street has lost electrical power.

CenterPoint confirmed to Robyne Patterson and other residents in an email that the power went off at around 3:30 p.m. Emails also revealed that approximately 55 homes were left without power. Patterson said residents were made aware that another company, Ezee Fiber, would be digging in the area.

Gee, who was last seen by family the day before she died, was in a complex whose power had been shut off during this week’s storm. “It really doesn’t take very low temperatures to put us in a difficult situation,” said Dr. David Callender, the president and CEO of the Memorial Hermann system. They are people who need dialysis or oxygen but they don’t have power at home or at the facility they usually visit. This week, Memorial Hermann saw more than 100 patients alone. “Unfortunately it sneaks up on us and there really aren’t obvious symptoms until we may be near unconsciousness,” he said.

HOUSTON – More than 1 million customers in the Houston area are left without power in the coldest stretch of weather in decades. “The private company providers and generators of that power, their operations totally froze up,” Abbott said. He posted a Tweet that said, “Neither the City of Houston nor Harris County controls or regulates ERCOT or the power generators. “The ERCOT market design is fatally flawed,” said Ed Hirs, the University of Houston energy fellow. LAKE CHARLES, Louisiana Less than 24 hours after Hurricane Laura devastated much of southeast Louisiana, thousands of residents in Lake Charles were left in the dark and struggling to make it back to their homes through tangles of trees, downed power lines and other debris. Almost every street in Lake Charles suffered some form of damage. Hundreds of homes suffered damage ranging from the cosmetic to the devastating. By late afternoon, many who live outside of Lake Charles still couldnt get home to even assess what is left of their property. There is dusk until dawn curfew is in effect in Lake Charles.
