The disruption, first reported at 2:11 a.m., affected countless websites and services nationwide.

On a day where the Greater Houston area is expecting severe weather, dozens of Xfinity customers are reporting multiple outages.

KPRC 2 is working to confirm exactly what is causing Friday’s outages, but at least one customer shared information from the Xfinity outage tracker, saying the disruption is expected to be resolved by 4 p.m.

The agency says staff is working with affected customers to reschedule their appointments as quickly as possible.

Not because it will get anyone’s lights on faster, but because residents and business owners could be out a lot of money if some electricity providers start to fold in the days ahead.
