Texas junior quarterback Quinn Ewers has declared for the NFL draft, ending a Longhorns career in which he led the program to a Big 12 championship and twice to the College Football Playoff but was not always embraced by a fan base eagerly waiting for Arch Manning to take over.

Making the playoffs is one thing, but can they build on their success and take the next step as a program?

The emergence of Cain and Tomball Memorial makes the competition for playoff position ultra-competitive. Klein Oak PanthersCoach Jason Glenn led the Klein Oak Panthers to the Region Semis last season, the farthest it's been in five years. Tomball Memorial WildcatsCoach Sam Parker is one the best offensive minds in the city. Tomball Memorial returns QB Colton Marwill, who threw for nearly 3,000 yards and 30 TDs as a junior.

When sports came to a screeching halt, school was forced into the home-online version, that didn't keep athletes from getting individual workouts in to stay in shape.
