The individuals bought Powerball tickets that matched five of the numbers picked in Saturday’s Powerball drawing -- 14, 20, 39, 65 and 67- though they did not match the Powerball drawn, which was 2. One individual bought a Powerball ticket at a Sugar Land Kroger, located at 18861 University Blvd. and another individual purchased a Powerball ticket at a Houston Quick Stuff Convenience Store, located at 8055 North Sam Houston Pkwy. Another Powerball ticket sold in Texas matched five of the numbers drawn Saturday.

On Christmas Day, the Texas Lottery Commission reported that a Mega Millions ticket with a prize amount of $1 million was sold at a Kroger in Katy located at 2700 W. Grand Parkway N. The winning numbers were 17, 23, 36, 69 and 70. On Dec. 26, it was announced that there was a winner of a Powerball ticket sold at a Fiesta Mart located at 11006 Airline Dr. The winning numbers: 10, 24, 27, 35 and 53. A Powerball ticket with a prize amount of $1 million was also sold at a Tiger Mart located in Cleburne.

HOUSTON – Welp, someone just became $47 million richer after claiming a jackpot-winning Lotto Texas ticket. The ticket was sold at Pic N Pac 10 located at 109 Hwy 123 N. Bypass in Seguin, according to lottery officials. Approximately 46 people were close to getting a piece of that $47 million, but were short by one number, according to lottery officials. HOUSTON – This weekend, Texans have the rare chance to win $42.75 million -- the largest jackpot prize in North America, according to Texas Lottery. “Saturday night’s Lotto Texas jackpot is the largest lottery prize available on the continent and can only be won by a Texas Lottery player,” said Gary Grief, executive director of the Texas Lottery Commission. “We’re hopeful that at least one player wins the biggest jackpot the game has seen in more than a decade this weekend. On March 18, Andrew Parrish, a small business owner, was driving home from work when he stopped at Han-Dee Hugo on U.S. 22 Business in Randleman. “I just got off work and stopped to get some pork rinds,” recalled Parrish. She cried all the way home.”Parrish picked up his prize Monday in Raleigh and left with $141,501 after taxes. He plans to use his prize money to pay off bills and his daughter’s car, and maybe buy himself a new truck.

A 22-year-old grocery store employee just won the biggest jackpot in Quebec's history after he purchased a ticket from the store where he works. Eight others won $1 million in the same draw as Mathieu, the lottery's website said. Lavoie and other Loto‑Québec officials say they will give Mathieu advice on what he should consider doing before handing over the cash. "If you like your job, you don't need to retire yet," Lavoie will say. That’s good advice for grocery store workers and lotto winners alike.

HOUSTON – A convenience store clerk appeared in court Monday after being accused of scratching tickets to see if they were winners before the tickets were sold. Investigators said it happened at the Timewise Food Store at 8190 Katy Freeway in Houston. Clerk Omar Ali, 31, is charged with violation of lottery act, a felony, as some of the tickets had prizes of up to $1 million. According to court documents, investigators believe Ali would use a pin to make very small scratches in the bonus prize box to see if the ticket was an instant winner or not. “Taking away from the customers but it ain’t right though.“Court documents didn’t mention what investigators think Ali was doing with the winning tickets.

The Cash Five lottery ticket was sold at an Exxon gas station at 7090 West Orem Drive, in southwest Houston, according to the Texas lottery. More than 100 tickets had four of five numbers correct and won $350 each. In the Cash Five lottery game, a person can win cash prizes by matching 2, 3, 4 or 5 numbers from a field of 35, per the Texas lottery.
