Houston Mayor John Whitmire stopped a payout last week to a Houston business owner charged with bribery, following KPRC 2’s ‘DRAINED’ Investigation into the city’s waterline contract corruption scandal. Now that business owner says he’s sorry for what happened and explains he’s still owed for the finished work.

One of the Houston business owners charged with bribery following our ‘DRAINED’ Investigation into Houston’s contract corruption scandal, is scheduled to receive more than $8 million this week. This is for work completed on an unrelated city project.

Joseph Nerie had his bribery and tampering with government document felony charges dismissed after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge of offering a gift to a public servant.

Patrece Lee has a court date scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday morning. She’s the first to appear in court following the charges being filed.
