The City of Houston is tackling the road rage and aggressive driving problem on highways on Highway 288 and the South Loop (I-610) on Tuesday.

Houston Police shared a photo on X showing a police cruiser blocking the ramp.

The fire was west of I-610 causing traffic backups during the evening rush hour.

A container truck crashed and caught fire, shutting down all but one lane northbound on I-10 at Ella Blvd. Wednesday morning.

HOUSTON – A cement truck rollover on Interstate 610 South Loop at Fannin has part of the freeway blocked. Police said the accident occurred in the westbound lanes of 610 South Loop. Cement and a small oil spill are covering the westbound lanes and they will remain closed for some time. Cleanup crews are on the way. HOUSTON – A massive water main that broke Thursday poured floodwaters into an east Houston neighborhood and onto a heavily traveled nearby freeway. The 96-inch line ruptured near the Interstate 610 East Loop at Clinton Drive. The water flowed down Clinton Drive and onto the East Loop, bringing traffic to a halt. HOUSTON – An overturned cement truck Wednesday morning closed part of Interstate 610 South Loop at Interstate 45 Gulf Freeway. The crash was reported about 10:40 a.m. on the westbound side of the South Loop just before I-45. Video from a Houston Transtar camera showed traffic was being forced off I-610 in the area. HOUSTON – Drivers and small business owners are bracing for the impact of a major construction closure that starts Friday. All I-610 West Loop northbound and southbound lanes at I-69 will be closed. Motorists traveling northbound on I-610 West Loop northbound will detour to I-610 frontage road to re-enter the mainlanes of I-610 northbound. HOUSTON – A tractor-trailer broke in half Thursday morning and spilled gravel on part of the Interstate 610 East Loop. The incident was reported at 5:47 a.m. on the southbound side of I-610 at Interstate 10 East Freeway. Video from SKY 2 showed gravel covering several outside lanes.
