Colorado (8-6-4), which clinched a playoff berth with a 1-0 win over Portland on Wednesday, enters post-season play for the first time since 2016. Houston (4-9-9) ended the season without a win its last seven contests. Rubio took a pass from Cole Bassett, started his run down the left, planted and fired across his right for the game winner. Younes Namli put the Rapids up 1-0 at the 61st minute before Mauro Manotas evened the score for Houston eight minutes later.

HOUSTON โ Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo reminded residents of where they can vote during Election Day and addressed the courtโs decision to reject another Republican effort to invalidate 127,000 votes in Houston. Hidalgo visited BBVA Stadium, which will be a voting location on Tuesday, to provide voters information on new voting options that will be available in Harris County. The county judge said her message to residents in Harris County is simple -- go vote, saying now is the time to participate and have their voices heard. She reminded residents that there will be a record number of voting locations where people can vote anywhere on Election Day. โYou should rest easy knowing, weโre protecting you from COVID at all our locations," Hidalgo said.

FRISCO, Texas โ Fabrice-Jean Picault scored twice in FC Dallas' 3-0 victory over the Houston Dynamo on Saturday. Franco Jara tapped in a sliding goal off a headed centering pass from Michael Barrios in the 19th minute to give Dallas (8-5-7) the lead. In the 27th minute, Fabrice-Jean Picault headed in a book pass from Andrรฉs Ricaurte. Piicault added one more in the 93rd for the final margin. Houston (4-9-9), which beat Dallas 2-0 on Oct. 7, is winless in six matches.
Crew takes advantage of own goal in a 1-1 tie against Dynamo
(AP) โ Victor Rodriguezโs own-goal on a clearing attempt at the 67th minute helped the Columbus Crew salvage a 1-1 tie against the Houston Dynamo on Saturday. Though the time of possession was largely even, Houston (4-7-9) failed to capitalize on a 24-6 shot advantage against the Crew (10-4-5). Memo Rodriguez put the Dynamo on the board in the 37th minute when he punched in a short shot on a rebound off a deflected save by the keeper. The Dynamo are unbeaten in the last eight meetings between the teams in Houston with the Crewโs last victory coming in 2011.
Houston salvages 2-2 tie with Minnesota United
(AP) โ Niko Hansenโs goal in the 83rd minute helped rally the Houston Dynamo to a 2-2 tie with Minnesota United on Sunday night. The Dynamo's (4-7-8) Memo Rodrรญguez scored in the 59th minute, cutting the their deficit to 2-1. Minnesota United (6-5-6) failed to capitalize on a fast start that included two goals in a 19-minute span in the first half by Ethan Finley. Finley scored at 11 minutes on a well-timed run off a throw-in from midfield. At 30 minutes, Finley started a run and took a feed from Jacori Hayes past a defender, beating the keeper.
Mukhtar scores twice, Nashville beats Houston Dynamo 3-1
HOUSTON โ Hany Mukhtar scored two of Nashvilleโs three first-half goals in a 3-1 victory over the Houston Dynamo on Wednesday night. Mukhtar opened the scoring in the 15th minute, and Abu Danladi scored on a header four minutes later. Mukhtar added another one in the 23rd, beating Dynamo goalkeeper Marko Maric on a free kick. Darwin Quintero, who leads Houston with six goals, scored in the 75th minute. Joe Willis made five saves for Nashville, which has allowed just nine goals in its last 11 games.

(AP) โ Darwin Quintero and Darwin Cerรฉn scored and the short-handed Houston Dynamo beat FC Dallas 2-0 on Wednesday night. Quintero rolled a left-footer just inside the post in the 20th minute. Houston's Maruo Manotas was shown a straight red card for a serious foul in first-half stoppage time and the Dynamo played a man down the rest of the way. Houston (4-5-7) snapped six-game winless streak dating to a 2-1 win over Sporting Kansas City on Sept. 5. It was the 30-year-old midfielder's first goal of the season and the fifth of his career.
Pulido, Busio help Sporting KC beat Dynamo 2-1
(AP) โ Alan Pulido had his first multi-goal game in MLS, Gianluca Busio had two assists and Sporting Kansas City beat the Houston Dynamo 2-0 on Saturday night. Busio played a long through ball to Pulido, who evaded a pair of defenders before putting away a side-netter. Pulido made a sliding first-timer to make it 2-0 in the 73rd. Busio's one-touch pass led Pulido into the area, where he chipped in over sliding goalkeeper Marko Maric. Sam Junqua, a 23-year-old defender, scored his first MLS goal for the Dynamo in the 84th minute.
Beric scores again as Fire beats Dynamo, snaps skid
CHICAGO โ Robert Beric scored for the third consecutive game and the Chicago Fire beat the Houston Dynamo 4-0 on Wednesday night. Jonathan Bornstein played a one-touch pass to Beric for a one-touch redirection from 7 yards in the 15th minute. Sapong converted from the spot in the 89th to cap the scoring after Aljaz Struna was called for a foul in the area. Sapong's first penalty kick was stopped but, after video review, goalkeeper Marko Maric was ruled to have come off his line and Sapong put away his second attempt. It was the Fireโs highest-scoring game of the season and just their fourth with more than one goal.

Ricuarte scored his first MLS goal โ in his second game โ to open the scoring in the 28th minute. Memo Rodrรญguez tied it for the Dynamo in the 41st, blasting a rising right-footer into the corner of the net of a set piece. Christian Ramirez tapped in a left-footer to open the scoring less than 20 seconds into the second half. Memo Rodrguez played a high entry from outside the area to the far post where Ramirez scored from point-blank range. BBVA Stadium to reopen to some fans for Dynamo, Dash home games
HOUSTON BBVA Stadium announced a limited number of fans will soon be able to attend Houston Dynamo, Dash home games, according to a press release. This reopening plan, which has been approved by the city of Houston, Major League Soccer and the National Womens Soccer League, marks the first time a major league sports stadium has reopened to some fans. The Dash is scheduled to play on Sept. 26 at BBVA Stadium against the Orlando Pride. BBVA Stadium is implementing policy changes and safety enhancements to protect fans, players and employees' health. The team also outlined that seating will be limited to the upper seating bowl at BBVA Stadium.

HOUSTON Mauro Manotas scored on header in the 85th minute and the Houston Dynamo beat Sporting Kansas City 2-1 on Saturday night. The Dynamo (3-2-4) have a four-match undefeated streak, outscoring opponents 10-3. Sporting KC (5-3-2) is winless in its last four. Houston goalie Marko Maric deflected Khiry Shelton's shot to Erik Hurtado, who banked it into the back of the net in the 30th minute for Sporting KC. Tim Melia made four saves for Sporting KC.
Houston Dynamo & Dash hosts food collection drive for Hurricane Laura victims
Houstons two professional soccer teams are hosting a food drive to assist Hurricane Laura victims. The Houston Dash and Houston Dynamo are collecting water, diapers and non-perishable food items Saturday at BBVA Stadium. The food drive started at 9am and runs to 3pm at the south end of the Stadium near the intersection of Emancipation Avenue and Walker Street. The soccer teams are collecting supplies donated by Houstonians which will then head to the Houston Food Bank. The food bank will disperse the items to Hurricane Laura victims in southeast Texas, specifically Port Arthur and Beaumont.
Dynamo to host FC Dallas at BBVA Stadium
The Houston Dynamo will once again play a match at their home venue, BBVA Stadium. Houston will host their in-state rivals, FC Dallas, on Friday, August 21. It will be the first match played at BBVA in over five months. I think they did a great job and it helped them in their transition now to their home markets. Teams will take chartered flights, and for the majority of road trips will arrive in the host market on matchday and depart after the match later that evening.
Portland reaches knockout stage after 2-1 win over Houston

Our first goal was to reach the knockout stage, Portland coach Giovanni Savarese said. We are in a group with three difficult opponents, so every game is a must win, Houston coach Tab Ramos said. It is Ebobisse's second goal in the tournament and his second in five career matches against Houston. Dynamo set to return after MLS finalizes plan
The MLS announced Wednesday they will resume their season beginning July 8 with everything based in Orlando. Regular season points can be earned and the winner will earn a spot in the 2021 Concacaf League tournament. MLS officials are confident that medical protocols are in place for the duration as all 26 teams will converge on Orlando. MLS Commissioner Don Garber spoke with the media and says the plan is a good one. Once the tournament ends the MLS plan is for teams to continue playing in their home cities.

Houston Dynamo name Wilmer Cabrera as new head coach
HOUSTON โ The Houston Dynamo named Wilmer Cabrera as its new head coach. He was previously the first head coach for the Rio Grande Valley FC Toros, the Dynamo's United Soccer League affiliate. "I'm really happy to be here and I understand the responsibility of a big club like the Houston Dynamo," Cabrera said. The Dynamo and former head coach Owen Coyle agreed to mutually part ways in March and he left the team in May. The second-year head coach expressed a desire to be closer to his family in England and the club accommodated the request.
Dynamo Sign Rodriguez to "Homegrown" Contract
HOUSTON โ The newest member of the Houston Dynamo happens to come right from their own Dynamo Academy. El Campo, TX native Jose "Memo" Rodriguez signed to a homegrown contract. According to the team and MLS rules, the terms of the contract were not discussed. Rodriguez has been apart of the Dynamo Academy since 2011.

The Houston Dynamo have reached an agreement with Greenstar Recycling that will end its team sponsorship, it was announced today. The Dynamo signed and announced its three-year sponsorship agreement with Greenstar in December of 2010. "We had a successful partnership and I am happy that we played a key role in Greenstar's growth and ultimate sale." "We can attribute much of the success to the value of sponsoring the Dynamo jersey. Prior to Greenstar, the Dynamo had a successful three-year jersey partnership with Amigo Energy.
Dynamo to play Chicago Fire on road
The Houston Dynamo finished the regular season with a 2-0 defeat against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday night at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. The Dynamo enter the MLS Cup playoffs as the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference and will hit the road to face the Chicago Fire at 8 p.m. CT on Wednesday in a Knockout Round match at Toyota Park. With the loss, the Dynamo finish the regular season 14-9-11 (53 points). Deric made his first start of the season while midfielders Alex Dixon and Giles Barnes each made their first career regular season start. It was Andre Hainault's 100th regular season start with the Dynamo.

HOUSTON โ The Houston Dynamo released their 2012 schedule Thursday, beginning the season with several away games before opening BBVA Compass Stadium. The 2011 Eastern Conference champions will open the season with seven straight road games. The home opener at BBVA Compass Stadium will be against D.C. United on May 12.
