DPS investigators searched the Honda, which is standard procedure after a car crash. Troopers found the body of a woman in the trunk, according to the release. Takata used volatile ammonium nitrate to create a small explosion to inflate air bags in a crash. The problem caused the largest series of auto recalls in U.S. history, with at least 63 million inflators recalled. The inflator in the passenger air bag also ruptured. Honda, which has the most Takata inflators of any manufacturer, urged owners of recalled Honda and Acura vehicles to get repairs done at a dealer as soon as possible.

The recall covers EX-L, Touring and Elite minivans from the 2018 through 2020 model years. The company says the wiring harness running to a third-row power outlet may have been pinched and damaged during manufacturing. Honda said Tuesday that owners will be notified of the recall by mail in mid-March. If the wiring harness is damaged, it will be replaced.
