Teachers tell KPRC 2 that two administrators at Houston ISD’s Harvard Elementary School were seen being escorted from the campus with their belongings Thursday.

Dr. Shelby Calabrese, the principal of Harvard Elementary School, has been placed on administrative leave by the Houston Independent School District (HISD), though specific reasons for this decision remain undisclosed.

After battling extreme heat, Harvard Elementary students and staff are finally enjoying cool classrooms this week! "We have COLD AC! It’s 66 to 68 in all rooms!" shared a relieved staff member. While this isn’t a permanent solution, it’s a welcome break from the sweltering conditions that have plagued Houston’s oldest school. Earlier reports highlighted severe HVAC issues across several campuses, leading to widespread frustration among parents and staff. The Harvard PTA has called for a community meeting with Houston ISD to address these recurring problems and ensure a lasting fix.
