GIVING TUESDAY

For those who plan on donating to a charitable organization for Giving Tuesday, there could be some opportunities to receive money back when filing taxes next year.

On Giving Tuesday, there are an endless number of ideas out there on how to give, but quite possibly one of the simplest and most meaningful ways is by spreading kindness.

With Giving Tuesday now here, people might want to donate money to a good cause, but simply might not have much of it lying around.

Beyond the opportunity to add some money to their accounts, Giving Tuesday has other benefits for nonprofit organizations that last well beyond that particular day.

They said more and more families need assistance and fewer families are able to donate this time of year. As millions of Americans spent the last several days shopping for the holiday season, millions of families continue to struggle. It all adds up.”If you donate to these charities through their Facebook pages, Facebook will match $7 million in donations on Giving Tuesday. HOUSTON – Deputy constables could be seen standing in the medians on Tuesday morning collecting donations for elementary-age students who might otherwise go without this holiday season. The toy drive has been held outside of the Dr. Gleem Car Wash for 21 years. Following the drive, toys will be purchased with the donations and bagged up for delivery by members of the Precinct 1 Constable’s Office to students at 22 elementary schools. The event will be held at Dr. Gleem’s Car Wash, located at 3103 Ella Blvd until 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Click here to donate to the toy drive.

Giving Tuesday is still somewhat new in the grand scheme of social media things, and even though your first thought might be donating money, there are plenty of other ways to give, so don’t feel like you can’t participate if you don’t happen to have the funds at the moment.

Taking place on Dec. 1 this year, many local organizations in the Houston area are gearing up to respond to increased economical need.
