According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, the state will distribute more than 818,410 first doses and 587,950 second doses to providers in 202 of the state’s counties. Harris County Public Health and Houston Health Department have 10,000 doses each allocated for this week. Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center has more than 12,000 allocated doses. As of Friday, Texas providers have administered more than 10 million doses of the vaccine, 1.2 million of those administered in the last week.

HOUSTON – A former Fort Bend County sheriff’s deputy has been charged with criminal negligent homicide in the shooting death of a 37-year-old deputy constable in the Sienna Plantation area of Missouri City in May. Chadwick Devin McRae, 49, of Stafford, is charged in the death of Caleb Rule, records show. The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office released a statement about McRae, saying he was terminated following an internal investigation due to violation of the office’s Use of Force Policy as it related to Rule’s death. “This situation is tragic,” Fort Bend County District Attorney Brian M. Middleton said. And the death of Deputy Rule, who was on duty serving his community at the time of his death, is an unbearable loss for his wife, children, and extended family.”The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office referred questions to the Texas Rangers, as the lead investigative agency, and the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office.

HOUSTON – The Fort Bend Independent School District will begin the 2020-21 school year entirely online, the Board of Trustees decided Monday night. “Fort Bend ISD will begin the 2020-21 School Year 100% online in order to give students, parents and staff an opportunity to adjust to online learning and safety procedures,” officials tweeted. Here’s what you need to know:No in-person extracurriculars will be held during the start of the school year when students are learning entirely online. Engagement in online learning will be required on a daily basis. All staff, students and visitors will undergo a non-contact temperature check prior to entering FBISD schools and facilities.

On Friday, Fort Bend County authorities announced they arrested 33-year-old Timothy Holloway. Authorities accuse Holloway of shooting his Staffordshire Terrier, Clarence, twice in the face in December 2019. Fort Bend County officials say Holloway was the owner of the dog at the time of the shooting and when he was arrested, he admitted to the shooting. Officials went on to say animal abuse will not be tolerated in Fort Bend County and they will prosecute offenders to the fullest extent of the law. If convicted, Holloway could face up to 10 years in prison.

Fort Bend residents will receive a 32-oz plastic container and 1-gallon of disinfectant product, officials said. HOUSTON – A man accused of shooting his girlfriend has been arrested. Fort Bend county sheriff's deputies said Michael Warren, 58, shot his girlfriend, Sylvia Casares, at a home in the Foster Creek subdivision between Richmond and Fulshear on Monday. Casares, who owns Sylvia's Enchilada Kitchen, underwent surgery and is expected to recover. Warren fled the scene after the shooting, but he was captured at a Rosenberg motel on Thursday. Warren is in the Fort Bend County Jail with bond set at $100,000.
