As Fleming Middle School kicks off the new school year under the New Education System, Principal Deven Adams and his dedicated team are aiming for an A-rating. Despite district-wide challenges, the school’s community is optimistic and united in their efforts. “I want that A,” says Adams, echoing the determination felt throughout the campus.

It’s the beginning of a new school year at Fleming Middle School, and changes under the New Education System are in full swing. Our latest story highlights the excitement of the Vikings as they prepare for extracurricular tryouts, including football, cross country, volleyball, and cheerleading.

Sheretta Miles, a homeschooling mom, visited Fleming Middle School to explore enrolling her daughter, Paris. Drawn by the school's positive changes and reassured by Principal Devin Adams, she found comfort in their efforts to ensure safety.

Many of the students attending Fleming Middle School said they are feeling the pressure of the New Education System, also known as the NES Model.

Fleming Middle School is taking things a step further to motivate its students through navigating the new NES model on campus. Students are awarded weekly for showing not only academic improvements but also character development.

To prepare teachers for the upcoming school year and the NES-aligned curriculum and lesson plans, the district set aside a day where teachers would be students and learn.

For 11 years, Lyndsy Mason has been inside a classroom teaching students at her own pace. This year, though, things are a bit different.
