The Indian Film Festival of Houston is expanding their outreach! Festival founder and executive director Sutapa Ghosh announced on Houston Life that next year, any country can take part in the festival. Going forward, the festival's focus will be to "collaborate, create and deliver!" With that in mind, starting in 2026, the Festival will include other countries, culture, food and music.

HOUSTON – With almost every event getting cancelled this year due to the pandemic, AstroWorld 2020 joins that list. However, Houston rapper Travis Scott, who brought his own AstroWorld festival to Houston’s NRG park since 2018 took to Twitter to announce the event will make a return in 2021. “See you next year at AstroWorld Fest 2021...can’t wait to turn the (expletive) up! Stay Safe!” the Twitter post read, captioned “THE PARTY NEVER ENDS.”This year’s event was supposed to take place Nov. 9, and the lineup has not been announced. HOUSTON – This weekend people are celebrating Día de los Muertos or Day of the Dead. Each year the MECA Houston organization hosts a colorful festival featuring several vendors and entertainment. “They tend to forget where the families are coming from, where our roots are, and so that is my favorite reason for celebrating this festival with MECA Houston,” he said. Saturday’s unique festival featured several performers wearing colorful costumes with long feathers and different designs. “My rattle here has something that looks like a monkey and that’s because in the ancient calendar the day of my birth is one monkey,” Xochitezca said.
