HOUSTON – A father was charged with making a firearm available to a minor after his 9-year-old child brought a loaded gun to a Dickinson Independent School District elementary school on Monday, the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office said. The father, who wasn’t named by law enforcement, received a misdemeanor citation and wasn’t arrested, authorities said. Little Elementary School. Little Elementary brought a loaded gun to school on Monday, Jan. 25. Before the school day started, at approximately 8:20 a.m., a student told a teacher that another student had brought a gun to school and was trying to hide it.

HOUSTON Dickinson Independent School District has released its 2020-2021 school year plan for Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. The districts trustees approved an additional 10 minutes to each school day at a board meeting. For advanced high school courses and many CTE courses, remote students must report to DHS on assigned days and times to complete assessments or performance-based assignments. Parents will be responsible for transportationStudents in Grades 7 through 12 who are enrolled in remote instruction at home may participate in after-school UIL Athletics and Fine Arts. Remote instruction students who do not meet daily instruction requirements will not be able to participate in after-school activities.

DICKINSON, Texas A Dickinson Independent School District employee, who the district declined to identify by job title on Wednesday, tested positive for COVID-19 after attending a Dickinson High School graduation ceremony last week. The people in the stands of the stadium were asked to remain distanced from each other, according to the school district. Dickinson High School buildings will remain closed until June 22 for disinfecting, according to Dowdy. Earlier, Dickinson ISD sent the following written statement regarding the situation:A Dickinson High School employee tested positive this week for COVID-19. The employee could have come in contact with graduates and guests at the Dickinson High School graduation ceremony on Thursday, June 4.
