The 2024-25 athletics year is wrapping up soon as soon let out for summer break. Before the student-athletes go on hiatus, some programs are still chasing championship dreams.

The Chargers have reached the Regional Semifinals for three-straight seasons and look to break through the ceiling to make the program’s first-ever Regional Finals match.

The Kingwood volleyball team lost their final match 3-0 to Clear Springs on November 24, bringing an end to their season. Jordan Rambo, Katelyn Tillis, Temi Areola, and Sydney Hicks were named first team, all-district. Kaitlyn Morgan and Hannah Smith were named to the second team, and Emily Coronado and Emma Montes were chosen as honorable mentions. The 2020 Kingwood volleyball team had seven graduating seniors. Though the 2020 season did not end ideally, the Kingwood Mustang volleyball team looks forward to improving and coming back better next season.

Clear Springs took down Clear Falls 27-14 in an important District 24-6A matchup, putting the Knights in a tie for first in the conference. The Knights face Clear Brook 2-0 this weekend. Clear Falls made a statement last weekend, crushing Clear Brook 28-0 in a District 24-6A clash. The offense is rolling for the Knights as QB Pierson Morelli has already thrown for over 400 yards and Quinn Bowen has over 400 all-purpose yards. WR Luke Vidal has also pitched in on offense. Defensively, the marquee talents are 6-foot-4, 225-pound senior DE/ LB Keith Cooper (55 total tackles, 4 sacks, INT) and senior OLB Kyron Smith (38 total tackles, INT). Defensively, the Knights are led by junior DB Tristan Zarella (3 INTs) and junior LB Kannon Garza (60 total tackles). Behind seniors Daevien Williams (44 total tackles) and Cameron Brown, who also plays linebacker, the secondary has some bright spots.
