An Edinburg man held on $800,000 in bonds is asking for a bond reduction after being accused of killing a woman in a wrong-way crash on Christmas in 2021. Edinburg police charged Otis Charles Barron, 30, with intoxicated manslaughter, accident involving death, two counts of intoxicated assault with vehicle and two counts of accident involving serious bodily injury. The probable cause affidavit states that Barron left his vehicle at the scene and proceeded to travel on foot to a hospital to get medical attention. In addition, Barron allegedly confessed to police to being the driver and leaving the scene of the crash. Barron is set to appear before state District Judge Keno Vasquez Tuesday morning for the hearing.
