PASADENA, Texas – A Pasadena firefighter is in the hospital after he was pinned in between two trucks while responding to an apartment fire, officials said. Police said the incident happened in the 4200 block of Fairmont Parkway when firefighters were called to a fire after a man fell asleep while cooking. HOUSTON – A woman was found dead after the Houston Fire Department responded to an apartment fire Wednesday in northwest Houston, officials said. The fire was detected to be coming from a first-floor apartment, officials said. When firefighters entered the apartment, they found the woman dead on a burning couch and immediately pulled her outside, but it is unclear if the cause of death was due to the fire or something else. Relatives identified her as Verma Moore, 67. The cause of the fire is under investigation by HFD Arson investigators while HPD Homicide detectives try to determine exactly how Moore died.
