ALVIN, Texas – An Alvin High School student is getting a lot of attention for bringing her soccer talents to the football field. Erin Webster was the kicker for Alvin's varsity football team in the Yellowjackets' 50-14 win over Pasadena on Friday. Webster tore her ACL in May and recently recovered from surgery. Webster is a standout on the soccer field. She is a three-time varsity Letterman and has received multiple scholarship offers.

ALVIN, Texas – An Alvin police officer was injured after a man led officers on a chase then crashed into the officer's patrol unit. According to police, Scott Paul Mayers, 38, of Alvin, was wanted in connection with a felony narcotics warrant through the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office. At around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, officers found Mayers and attempted to pull him over in a traffic stop. Mayers refused to stop, leading officers on a chase that spanned several miles and neighborhoods. The chase ended when Mayers crashed head-on into a police unit at Kost Road and Fairview Drive.
