HOUSTON – Four people were wounded Tuesday during a shooting in Houston’s Acres Homes neighborhood. The shooting was reported about 6:15 p.m. on West Little York at Knox Street. Two of them were listed in critical condition and the other two were listed in stable condition, Bryant said. Houston police said they believe a Chevrolet Impala may have been the type of vehicle used in the shooting. Byant said there was a shooting at the same convenience store on Jan. 3, but he did not say if the two shootings were related.

Houston police said officers arrived and found a man’s body in the road. Investigators said the victim had been shot at least once, but they weren’t sure if he was run over before or after the shooting. The man is known to walk in the area, police said.

HOUSTON – A man was saved from a burning house Monday in the Acres Homes neighborhood, just north of Houston. Not much was left of the home after firefighters pulled the man from the burning building. Neighbors said they saw the flames and rushed to help the man. “They just saw the initial blaze (and tried) to break the window (to) try to get him help,” said neighbor Marcus Owens. The man, who neighbors said is in his 50s, was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
