(AP) Anthony Rendon homered, Jared Walsh and Justin Upton delivered key hits during a four-run eighth inning and the Los Angeles Angels defeated the Houston Astros 9-5 on Sunday to sweep the series. The Angels have a won a season-high five straight and posted their first four-game sweep since 2017. The third baseman who delivered key long balls for the Washington Nationals in last year's World Series against the Astros had a three-run drive to give the Angels a doubleheader sweep Saturday. The Angels took control of the game in the eighth when their first five batters reached base. The Astros jumped out to a 3-0 lead with three hits and three runs by their first six batters.
Tucker homers, triples twice; Astros beat Rockies, 13-6
(AP) Kyle Tucker homered, hit two triples and drove in four runs, and the Houston Astros beat the Colorado Rockies 13-6 on Wednesday night for their seventh straight win. The Astros had a season-high 20 hits to back a strong outing from Framber Valdez (2-2). Valdez held the Rockies to a run and five hits through seven innings before faltering in the eighth. Tucker followed Correas homer in the fifth with a triple, had a two-run triple in the sixth, singled in the four-run seventh and finished his night with a two-run homer in the ninth. Taylors singles in the fifth and sixth scored Tucker each time and chased Rockies starter Ryan Castellani (0-1).
