Nick Mantas is an award-winning sports reporter who joined the KPRC 2 Sports Team in September of 2025. This is Nick's third local TV station in the Lone Star State, getting his first start in TV as a weekend sports anchor/sports reporter at KTXS in Abilene, Texas, and two years in San Antonio at KPRC's sister-station KSAT, where he covered the San Antonio Spurs, Victor Wembanyama's debut in the NBA, and local sports coverage. Between Abilene and San Antonio, Nick traveled up north to take a weekend sports anchor/sports reporter position in Lansing, Michigan, at WLNS, for three years. In clarifying chronological order, from 2018-2019, Nick was a weekend sports anchor/sports reporter in Abilene, Texas. From 2019-2022, he was a weekend sports anchor/sports reporter at WLNS in Lansing, Michigan, during the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic, and he and his sports team found sports stories for each show when the sports world was shut down due to the outbreak. Then, after a brief stint working for i-Heart Radio, Nick was hired as a sports reporter at KSAT in San Antonio in August of 2023, where he would fill in anchor occasionally before coming to Houston in September of 2025. He has an undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona, which focused on his first career as a strength and conditioning coach, and a master's degree from Northwestern University in Sports Media. During his days as a strength coach, Nick helped train Super Bowl Champions Rob Gronkowski and Nick Foles, former Houston Texans Earl Mitchell and Brooks Reed, NBA Champion Aaron Gordon, and NBA point guard T.J. McConnell. Nick is Greek and a native of Brookline, Massachusetts, and is looking forward to connecting with the Greek community in Houston.
ghts in the gym, enjoys walking down the San Antonio riverwalk with his girlfriend, and is a big fan of brunches. If you have any suggestions for where to get a good bite on a weekend morning, make sure to send them his way!
