HOUSTON – Texans defensive tackle Tim Settle Jr. is undergoing season-ending foot surgery and will be placed on injured reserve, per a league source.
Settle, who is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent, is expected to make a full recovery before next season.

The team later made this move official.
“Sad news, Tim was playing really good football for us and was having a really good season,” defensive coordinator Matt Burke said. “Hurting for him and what he’s going through.”
The Texans were awarded cornerback Ja’Marcus Ingram off waivers from the Buffalo Bills. There is growing concern about starting cornerback Kamari Lassiter’s availability for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs due to a foot injury and he has missed the past two practices. Lassiter is still attempting to play, per sources, and hasn’t been ruled out yet. It is not regarded as a season-ending injury, a source emphasized.
If Lassiter can’t go, Tremon Smith is expected to replace him opposite All-Pro corner Derek Stingley Jr.
Ingram signed with the Bills as an undrafted free agent after playing at Texas Tech and Utah State. Ingram (6-foot-2, 190 pounds) is a Dallas native who has recorded 33 career tackles, one sacks, four passes defensed and two interceptions with one touchdown.
He picked off Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa last season twice, returning one for a score.
Settle got hurt against the Indianapolis Colts.
He recorded 15 tackles this season with one sack and one quarterback hit.
Last season, Settle had 31 tackles and tied a career-high with five sacks.
