Ridge Point’s Smith Twins shine on the defensive line

The twins are the sons of former Houston Texans defensive lineman Robaire Smith Sr.

MISSOURI CITY, Texas – Ridge Point High School has two defensive ends with a ton of athletic ability and talent. Romaire and Robaire Smith Jr. are the sons of former Houston Texans defensive lineman Robaire Smith Sr.

What lessons have they learned from their dad’s playing days that have helped them along their journeys?

“His main advice is just always finish,” said Robaire Jr. “No matter what, even if you get held down or anything happens, you just gotta finish, just run to the ball and all that.”

This being the twins’ final season at Ridge Point, what’s gotten them excited about starting the senior year 2-0?

“This is the last season I’m going to have, last season of high school, last season of high school football, and I just have to leave it all on the field because after this opportunity you’re not going to get another one,” said Romaire.

“It’s fun to coach,” said Ridge Point Head Coach Rick LaFavers. “It helps that they’re big and they’re fast and stuff, but nonetheless they’ve earned everything they’ve received and continued to work hard.”

The Panthers have a huge game on Thursday night against Bridgeland, both teams are 2-0, and according to Vype Magazine, Ridge Point is ranked the No. 1 Houston high school 6A football team, with Bridgeland ranking No. 3 going into week three.
