HOUSTON – Authorities say a suspicious item originally believed to be an explosive device was found during the execution of a search warrant at a southeast Houston home.
Later, on Thursday afternoon, KPRC 2 learned the suspicious item was fireworks packed together, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen said investigators were executing an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) search warrant at a home in the 500 block of Gilpin Street when they came across the suspicious item inside the home.
Investigators photographed the device and requested assistance from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad, which responded to the scene to assess and safely investigate the suspicious item.
The item was safely secured and there is no ongoing threat to the community, authorities said.
Precinct 1 investigators said a man was arrested and charged with 3 counts of child porn possession. Another person was detained, but no charges have been announced.
